Evesham Abbey brought to back to life to support Conversation Project

Being based in the heart of the ancient riverside market town of Evesham, Areca Design has become part of several campaigns to promote, support and maintain successful businesses and encourage tourist to enjoy the many attractions in the town.

Most locals and tourist have no idea that Evesham Abbey was once a very impressive building – the third largest Abbey in England and built near where a swine-heard was reported to have seen a vision of the Virgin Mary in the River Avon. The only standing remains of the Evesham Abbey is the Bell Tower, built nearly 500 years ago, however recent structural reports have identified urgent conservation work is needed which will cost in the region of £500,000.

Areca Design in support of the conservation project has created information literature and the project website – along with a 3D model of how Evesham Abbey used to look.

Visitors to Evesham will also be able to see the 3D model of the Abbey in its original size and position on their smart-phones or tablets by standing in Abbey Park and pointing their device’s camera towards the Bell Tower.

To see the 3D model and information about the conservation project, visit: www.eveshambelltower.org.uk
